SJW Group operates as a holding company with the following subsidiaries: San Jose Water Company in California; Connecticut Water Company in Connecticut; Maine Water Company in Maine; and SJWTX, Inc. (dba The Texas Water Company).
San Jose Water Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of SJW Group, was originally incorporated under the laws of the State of California in 1866. San Jose Water Company is a regulated private utility in the business of providing water service to a population of approximately one million people through approximately 231,000 connections in an area comprising about 139 square miles in the metropolitan San Jose area.
SJW Land Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of SJW Group, was incorporated in 1985. SJW Land Company owns commercial buildings, other undeveloped land primarily in the San Jose metropolitan area, a property in each of Florida, Texas, Arizona, Tennessee, and Connecticut, and a 70% limited partnership interest in a three-story office building located near the HP Pavilion in downtown San Jose.
SJWTX, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of SJW Group, was incorporated in the State of Texas in 2005. SJWTX, Inc. is doing business as The Texas Water Company (TWC). TWC is a regulated private utility in the business of providing water service to a population of approximately 52,000 people through approximately 17,500 service connections in a service area comprising about 246 square miles around Canyon Lake in western Comal County and southern Blanco County located between Austin and San Antonio.
The Connecticut Water Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Connecticut Water Service, Inc. that serves the New England region, was incorporated under the laws of the State of Connecticut in 1956. The Connecticut Water Company is a private utility regulated by the Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority and provides water service to a population of more than 360,000 (in a service area comprising about 200 square miles) in 60 communities across Connecticut, and wastewater service to a population of more than 10,000 in Southbury, Connecticut.
The Maine Water Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Connecticut Water Service, Inc. that serves the New England region, has been serving customers in the state of Maine since 1880. The Maine Water Company is a private utility regulated by the Maine Public Utilities Commission and provides water service to a population of more than 80,000 (in a service area comprising about 70 square miles) in 21 communities across Maine.
